Accessibility
This statement covers maker.startup-incubator.berlin, the website of the SIB Maker Lab at Startup Incubator Berlin, the founders’ centre of HWR Berlin.
Honest, not audited.
With this statement the website is not declared conformant with BITV 2.0 (the German implementation of EN 301 549). A full self-assessment under the BITV test procedure has not been carried out yet. Until it exists we state only what we know, not what we hope. Details of the enforcement body will be added by the university administration before final publication.
We deliberately keep this statement unfinished rather than claim a conformance nobody has verified. A false conformance claim would be the worse outcome for the people who depend on it.
What we know today.
- Interactive areas need JavaScript. Booking, the report form, the calendar and the community areas cannot be operated without JavaScript. The report form names an equivalent e-mail address; for bookings and inductions, writing to maker@startup-incubator.berlin is equivalent and treated the same way.
- Occupancy bars are graphical. Time bars convey bookings visually. The corresponding times are also given as text next to them; full keyboard operation of the bar itself is not yet implemented throughout.
- English version. The public pages exist in German and English. The internal administration areas are deliberately German only, they address the workshop team.
- Third-party content. Contributions by community members are not checked for accessibility, for example for alternative texts in linked files.
Tell us what does not work.
If something on this website is not accessible to you, tell us. The feedback channel is an e-mail address and needs no account, no sign-in and no JavaScript:
maker@startup-incubator.berlin →
Briefly describe what you could not use, on which page, and with which device or assistive technology. If you have a Maker Lab account you can use the form at Report content instead and choose “Other” as the reason; that page is reserved for the community because it also reports posts that are only visible with access. Both routes end up in the same place and are treated the same way.
We confirm receipt and come back with what we can change, and with what will take longer. If feedback goes unanswered, the route to the competent enforcement body is open; the contact details will be added here once the statement is final.
