Usage agreement

Before you work in the workshop for the first time, you accept the SIB Maker Lab usage agreement. Read the summary, enter your contact details and sign electronically. You will then receive the full agreement as a PDF.

01 · From signature to machine

Signing is step one of five.

This page is the first stop. It opens neither your account nor a machine: the induction, the clearance and the booking come afterwards, in the lab.

    You accept the agreement and sign electronically. The full version follows as a PDF.

    Induction

    The general and the device-specific induction in the lab. No machine runs before that.

    Clearance

    Every device carries its own clearance. It is personal and cannot be passed on.

    Once inducted you book your device yourself. Supervised devices run as an appointment.

02 · What you accept

Eight points that hold in the lab.

The essentials at a glance, what you agree to:

  1. P-01

    Scope

    Workshop areas, released machines and materials of the SIB Maker Lab only. No equipment loans; a Media Lab declaration does not replace this agreement.

  2. P-02

    Access

    Accounts, cards, keys, clearances and bookings are personal. Signing alone activates neither an account nor a machine.

  3. P-03

    Induction

    Machines only after the general and device-specific induction; hazardous processes also need a practical test or supervision.

  4. P-04

    Safety

    Follow house and fire-protection rules, keep escape routes and emergency stops clear, use protective equipment and extraction, never bypass guards, never work under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  5. P-05

    Material & workspace

    Released materials only; clear your own first. Published limits apply to laser, resin, soldering and 3D printing. Leave the workspace clean and ready to use.

  6. P-06

    Faults

    Report defects, damage and near misses at once, stop using the machine and mark it. Call 112 in an emergency.

  7. P-07

    Guests

    Only with clearance, never operating machines, always your responsibility. Do not touch other people’s projects or materials.

  8. P-08

    Liability

    Statutory rules apply; this agreement neither excludes nor limits liability.

Yes, I have read and understood the SIB Maker Lab usage agreement and accept the full agreement (sent to me by email) as legally binding. The German version prevails. A signature replaces neither the induction nor the clearance for a machine.
