Report content

This page is the notice channel for posts in the Maker community. Anyone can read the procedure here; the form itself requires an account, because the posts it deals with are only visible with one. From outside, you reach the same place at maker@startup-incubator.berlin, the contact point under Art. 11 and 12 DSA.

Access after induction

The community areas of the Maker Lab are open to people who have been inducted. The report form belongs to them: it reports posts that only they can see.

If you want to report something from outside (content, a legal concern, or a barrier on this website), write to maker@startup-incubator.berlin. That address is the contact point under Art. 11 and 12 DSA, it is monitored, and it is treated exactly like a report made here. Languages: German and English.

What happens next

Every report gets an answer.

  1. Receipt. Your report gets a number and immediately raises a case at a functional address, not with a single person. Follow-up and cover therefore do not depend on one calendar.
  2. Effect. It depends on the reason: for potentially illegal content, disclosure of other people’s personal data and safety-critical misinformation the post disappears immediately while it is reviewed. For spam, insults and “other” it stays visible and the report enters the moderation list. The form tells you which effect your reason has before you send it.
  3. Review. After 24 hours without a decision the system reminds the moderators. After 48 hours the reported post is hidden provisionally, if it is not already; this is expressly not a decision about it. After 72 hours the whole community drops to read-only: better quiet than unsupervised.
  4. Decision. You receive the outcome with reasons, at the e-mail address of your account. The author receives the same reasons. If the report is rejected, whatever this report triggered is undone; hiding that came from another, already decided case remains in place.

Misuse of the report button

Each person can report the same post only once, and at most five open reports are kept per post. Anyone who has produced more than three rejected reports within thirty days no longer triggers the immediate or the automatic hiding. Their reports are still reviewed, they simply no longer switch anything off. Otherwise the button would become a tool against inconvenient posts.

Who can report

Reporting requires an account. That is a deliberate decision: the posts in this community are only visible with access, and a report that can hide someone else’s post does not belong in anonymous hands. From outside, as an authority, as an affected person, or with a legal concern, you reach the same place at maker@startup-incubator.berlin. That address is the contact point under Art. 11 and 12 DSA, it is monitored, and every message is treated in the same way.

Accessibility

With an account, feedback about barriers goes through the same form: choose “Other” as the reason and describe what you could not use. Without an account, use the e-mail address above. The background is in the accessibility statement.

If it is urgent

If people or machines are at risk, this form is the wrong route. Contact the lab directly: maker@startup-incubator.berlin, or speak to someone on site.
