We set up your account on maker.startup-incubator.berlin and send you the credentials. There is no self-registration here, and you do not need one.

Access here is handed over.
At the Maker Lab access is given, not applied for. You tell us who you are and what you want to build. We create your account, assign your areas and record your induction. After that you log in and get going.
01 · Your message
Five things, two ways.
Who you are, where you come from, which area you need, what you are planning and when you can make it. That is all we need; everything else we sort out on site.
What happens to what you enter: the controller is Startup Incubator Berlin at HWR Berlin. We process your name, e-mail address, affiliation and the areas you ask for in order to handle your request and arrange access to the lab (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or (b) where use is concerned). Only the maker team can see it and nothing is passed on. It is deleted at the latest 90 days after the decision, or after 365 days if the enquiry is left unanswered. Your IP address, browser identification and location do not become part of the record. You can object, request access or ask for deletion at any time. Details: Privacy

No mail client?
The button opens your mail programme with a ready-made outline. If you do not have one, just write the five points freehand to the same address: name, affiliation, area, project, preferred time. That works for us just as well.
Our reply
Every message gets an answer. The lab is run by one person, so the reply comes from a human and not from an autoresponder.
Your data
We use what you tell us only to organise your access and your induction. The details are in our privacy notice.
02 · What we do next
The rest is on us.
You do not have to register anywhere or get anything unlocked. Three moves, all of them ours.
We assign your areas
We attach the areas that fit your project to your account: 3D printing FDM, 3D printing resin, soldering or the supervised laser. If something is added later, it is simply added.
We record the induction
You do the induction with us in the lab, and afterwards we record it in your account. It is valid for twelve months, and from then on you can book your machines.
Inductions currently run by arrangement; you get your slot with our reply. Two fixed weekly windows are being set up and will appear under Announcements.
03 · Good to know
Before you write to us.
- The areas. Five areas, three of them usable today: 3D printing, laser (supervised) and electronics. Wood and metal as well as textile and finish are being set up. The resin printer always runs supervised; the soldering stations need an induction but no booking.
- The laser runs supervised. The Epilog Zing 24 runs supervised only: appointment by arrangement, material approval and fire watch included. There is no self-booking for the laser. Details are on Equipment.
- The lab supplies the material. You do not bring filament. We keep track of consumption, but nothing is billed for now.
- Long prints may run through, overnight and unattended. We keep finished parts for four weeks; whatever is left after that we dispose of.
- Who the lab is for. The Maker Lab is open to participants in the SIB programmes and to HWR members interested in founding. CIC members use it under the framework agreement. External users case by case: write to us and we will sort out the arrangement.
- You need no prior experience. That is exactly what the induction is for. What you need to handle each machine, we show you there.
The agreement is what binds
This page explains the way in. What binds is the terms of use, which you accept before you first work here. If you have already accepted them at the SIB Media Lab, you do not have to do it a second time.

Write to us, we set you up.
If your access is already in place, you log in at maker.startup-incubator.berlin/sign-in/. That is where your inductions, your bookings and your own area live. What the machines can do is on Equipment.
